History
Major milestones in the companies' growth and development over the past 24 years include:
| 1978, Liquor Express established by Ricky Wilson Thomson in response to service concerns from the liquor industry & obvious market need for a specialist liquor sector logistics service provider. |
| 1980, Rosemount Wines comes on board using Liquor Express as it's sole Victoria wide distributor. This association continues for 23 years. |
| Liquor Transport Victoria Pty Ltd formed in 1986. |
| 1988, Liquor Transport Victoria expands substantially, commencing work for Diageo Australia, Continental Seagrams and Yalumba wines all of which remain customers to this day. |
| 1990, purpose built and owned Distribution Centre (DC) established at Brooklyn just 15 minutes from the Melbourne CBD. Company commences trading as Liquex Logistics. |
| In 1992 the company commences to diversify into fragile freight (complimentary to the base distribution service provided to the liquor sector). By 2002 Liquex has achieved a solid base of non-liquor customers in the areas of giftware, linen, homewares, and shoes. |
| Daily cross-docking service of interstate freight established in 1994. Companies such as UDV (now Diageo) & Continental Spirits soon realise the potential of this service offering and commence use of this logistics model, which continues to this day. |
| 1996, Liquor Logistics warehousing established in partnership with Ian Banks (Director Oswalds/Banks). The new business is located in a temperature controlled, clear span 2800 m2 facility located at Campbellfield. First New Zealand based customer commences operation with Liquor Logistics. |
| The Liquor Logistics warehouse operation has maintained an extremely high level of customer service and satisfaction for the six years of operation. In 2001 a major international spirits company with over 11 national and international sites voted it as its best warehousing operation. A commitment to reliable stock control, responsive customer service and value adding by experienced staff has ensured premium service. |
| Excellent working relationships and reporting to Customs & AQIS authorities has ensured premium service is maintained in terms of bond control and management. |
| 1998, Fox Pro SBT Warehouse Management System (WMS) & Transport Management System introduced into company operations. Computer based transport management operations & warehouse inventory upgrades completed. |
| 1999, commencement of Container Logistics with the purchase of Dennis Maloney Transport a local well established wharf operator. |
| 2000, Relocation of the DC to a modern purpose built 2400 m2 facility located in Sunshine, 15 minutes from the Melbourne CBD and 5 minutes from the newly opened Western Ring road. |
| 2000, computer monitored tracking introduced into the vehicle fleet, optimising transport efficiency, vehicle and product security and enhancing responsiveness of the same day service for customers |
| 2002 Commences EDRS project, track and trace. |
| 2004 Opens Pick and pack division incorporating compreshensive WMS (ISIS) |
